On 13th March 2017, Pamoja Life entered into a partnership on Women’s Entrepreneurship in Renewables with wPOWER Hub. Through this partnership we will be promoting the central role of women in clean energy entrepreneurship, addressing energy poverty and climate change in Kenya.
wPOWER Hub is committed to building evidence, sharing best practices, advocating for women entrepreneurs and is focused on developing women entrepreneurs in the clean energy field. Pamoja Life will leverage the networks and expertise of the partnerships built through wPOWER Hub to improve our last mile distribution, expand our product offering, and become a more significant player in accelerating access to clean energy.
Pamoja Life had the opportunity to meet with Wanjira Mathai, Senior Partnership Adviser on Advocacy & Strategy at wPOWER Hub, and Ben Mungai, representative of the Safaricom Foundation to discuss the work Pamoja Life is doing in the field of energy for BOP individuals, and in particular, with women. Mathai was greatly interested by the work of Pamoja Life, as well as impressed by our large-scale impact in the last year of our existence. She even bought an Envirofit Supersaver from Pamoja Life, to take to her rural home!
Through this partnership, we look forward to achieving a common goal of promoting the uptake of clean energy products aimed at improving the livelihoods of individuals.
